Healing begins in relationship. Here’s a little about the person who’ll walk alongside you.

About Me

FOUNDER, THERAPIST

Alan Chirino, LPC ACS

He/Him/El

I was born and raised in a vibrant, multigenerational household in Hudson County, NJ, where my Abuelita cared for me while my Cuban and Argentine parents worked hard to build a life here. Spanish was the language of home, and family was everything. Early on, I learned the value of community—how love, support, and shared growth help us thrive.

That spirit of community deeply informs how I practice therapy. I believe healing happens in relationships that honor each person’s uniqueness, story, and role. As a bilingual, first-generation therapist with over a decade of clinical experience in community mental health, I bring that belief into every session.

I hold Master’s degrees in Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I’m certified in grief counseling and clinical supervision. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care, with a strong emphasis on somatic practices, spirituality, and culturally affirming approaches.

Whether we meet in an office, outdoors, or virtually, I strive to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported. Therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in the understanding that you already hold wisdom within you—my role is to help you reconnect with it.

My Approach

My approach to therapy blends the clinical with the intuitive. While I draw from traditional psychotherapy techniques, I also integrate tools like tarot, somatic practices, and Chinese Qi Gong—tailoring each session to your unique needs.

I view healing as a process that involves all parts of you—your mind, body, spirit, and the systems you interact with daily, such as family, work, culture, and society. These external forces shape how we see ourselves and our place in the world, often without us even realizing it.

Together, we’ll explore the narratives that have shaped your life—what’s happened, what’s happening, and what’s possible ahead. My goal is to help you reconnect with your sense of agency, shift limiting patterns, and become the active author of your own story.
